The Next Song

I'm working on another song. It will probably take me two more years to get my version together. It's another Eliades Ochoa tune, "Si Es Un Final." This time around, instead of trying to learn to play the accordian to create my vision, I'll just do a guitar and vocals. I could just pound it out and post it, but I've decided it needs a decent guitar part--nothing tricky--just something half-way organized. It will probably take forever.

In the meantime, you can hear Eliades Ochoa's original version here:

A New Batch of Pix

Here are some new pix.  Click on each to see full-sized.

Here's Lucy back when her hero Elsie was still with us.  She liked to hang out with Elsie all the time.

Here's a 30 second exposure I took at the Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah WSA back in November.  It was fully dark when I took this one, but the extremely long exposure brought out the colors of the night.

Poor Spook hardly ever makes it into any pictures.  First, his dark color makes him hard to photograph.  Then, when he gets in a picture, his snotty little sister, Squigs, upstages him while he patiently waits in the background.

Squigs goes off-road!

Lucy peers off of a cliff into the trees at the bottom of Gallinas Canyon east of Las Vegas.

I Heart John Denver!

I am here to stand tall for John Denver.  He's gotten a bad rap over the years from almost everyone, me included.  I changed my mind a couple of years ago while driving through the Silverton area of Colorado going to or from Ouray.  It was a sunny day with fresh snow glistening on the pines.  I was scanning the radio when this song came on:

I didn't recognize it at first, but I was hooked by the time that the famous chorus hit.  It was the right song at the right moment.   I'm pleased to report that we're heading back to Ouray next weekend.  Here's a picture of the scene that towers over Ouray:

And here we are practicing for our future wedding photos.  This pic taken at the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray.
