The Five Meanest Airlines

My friend Ulpi just linked me to this post of the "Five Meanest Airlines" from some survey or other. Of the worst five, I've had recent problems with US Airways (bumped), American (stolen jamon serrano from checked luggage), and Delta (Neo-Nazi employees).

  1. I once flew from Alaska to Chicago with two dogs and two cats, and at O'Hare the U.S. Airways people wouldn't let us catch our connection to Syracuse because it was too cold (it was 32F in Chicago, it had been -5F when we left Anchorage). They're losers, and I haven't been on them since.

  2. I was highly pissed the day US Airways messed with us. Their online check-in was malfunctioning. We had no baggage to check. The airport wasn't busy. We simply had to walk up the gate--maybe 5-10 minutes, but because we hadn't appeared at their counter one hour before the scheduled departure, they wouldn't let us go to the plane. The plane was not full. Worse, the people at the counter were really nasty.
